It's Elephant Appreciation Day, September 22nd

The elephant is a majestic creature that has been valued throughout history. This native of Africa and Asia is the largest land animal and can have a life span of 60 + years. They are considered to be intelligent creatures, and have a sense of loyalty to their family. The elephant is a symbol for reliability, dignity, power, royalty, pride and good luck in many different cultures. The elephants ivory tusks are used for foraging, digging, stripping bark and moving things. Unfortunately their tusks were once revered and cut off and used as ornamentation. Today this practice is illegal, but the poaching of ivory still exists which is why some elephant populations remain endangered. Indagahome does not support the avarice for ivory or the senseless slaughter of elephants.
